Greyhounds – The Fastest and Oldest dog Breed

Greyhounds are acknowledged as the oldest recognized dog breed in the world. Not only are they depicted in the hieroglyphics of the Ancient Egyptians but they are also the only dog breed specifically mentioned in the Bible by name (King James Version Proverbs 30:29-31). Even King Canute, the 11th century ruler of England, decreed: “No mean person may keep any greyhounds.”
