Dog Breeds - Australian Shepherd |
The Australian Shepherd actually originated in the USA, not Australia! Developed in the 19th century , it was bred to work as a herding dog on ranches. It is unknown where the name came from, but it is believed it may have to do with its ancestors. Like most breeds in the herding/working group, Australian Shepherds tend to bore easily, which can lead to behavioral problems. Being bred to work all day makes for an energetic and purpose driven dog. This breed requires a lot of attention and time every day from its owner. If the Australian Shepherd does not receive the attention needed their vast energy may be expressed through unwanted digging or chewing. If trained properly these dogs are great with active children, and love to play, jump and run. They learn very fast and enjoy being challenged, always trying to out-think their livestock, or in the case of a family pet, their owners!

I just want to thank you for your fast friendly service. Honestly, I was not sure how this whole pet insurance thing was going to work out but I am sure glad that I got it. Recently my puppy had severe digestive bloat from getting into some food. I rushed to the emergency vet and racked up a nice bill of $234.30. Thank goodness that my little "Rosa" was okay. I sent my claim to you and you sent me the cheque in full within a week. I am so glad that I have insurance for both my dogs. Thanks PetCare I really appreciate it. I tell all my friends that you are the best pet insurance on the market... I have proof! Claim Submitted: $234.30 Claim Paid:$234.30 |
