Sometimes referred to as “Beardie”, the Bearded Collie was developed as a herding dog for sheep and cattle in Scotland. They performed independently, herding their flock with little direction from the shepherd. It is believed that the breed is a mix of the Polish Lowland Sheepdog and a variety of Scottish breeds. The temperament of this breed can very from being very energetic and bouncy, to more laid back and calm. They generally get along very well with other animals. If kept as a house pet not a herding dog, the Beaded Collie does require a lot of grooming. They are often very vocal and express their excitement through barking. They are known as being very bouncy, a characteristic that was likely developed by bouncing up on hills to try to view more of the pack they were herding. Their harsh outer coat helps to protects them from the weather, and often changes color throughout their lifetime.

I bought insurance for Flash with a certain degree of skepticism. I fully anticipated there being problems at some point with the coverage. However, PetCare handled my first major claim very promptly and I couldn’t believe how quickly I had my cheque in hand. Two of my friends who were interested in buying insurance for their own pets were waiting to see how my claim was handled. Now they are going to buy PetCare.
